accidental brilliance

Okay, I have to 'fess up on this one.  I was trying to shoot this car going by that had 2 children in the back seats who were each watching televisions mom and dad had supplied in order to keep the kids quiet on what must have been a long trip.  The idea disgusted me, frankly, and I thought I might blog about it.  Instead, I got this shot and I have to say, just for the color alone, I like how it turned out.  I can't claim I knew what I was creating, of course, but still, it was this artist's result so here you go.

  1. Very cool shot, I liked reading about what was going on in the creation of it too. I don't like seeing TV's in cars at all. I remember one time we were driving and looked over and people were watching a porn on their TV in the backseat. We managed to go on trips as a kid just fine without TV's.

  2. It's funny you should say that--about enjoying reading about the pictures. I actually changed my mind about putting up a bit of information at least partly because of a mutual friend/blogger/photographer we both know--Randy at Santa Fe Daily Photo. I thought people might enjoy a little background sometimes, at least, after reading his.
And yeah, a tv in the back seat. In this case, there was one for each of the two kids. I thought it a bit much. I mean, why don't we just drug 'em in the back seat so they're REALLY quiet?
