Majestic

Seems the name of the restaurant may also be referring to their old building itself.

James Nutter Would Be Pleased

I believe Mr. Nutter, now-deceased James Nutter, local real estate magnate and mortgage lender, would be pleased, still, to this day, I think, were he here, with the neighborhood he bought and adopted.

Happy holidays, everyone. Enjoy that beautiful weather out there.

Just North of St. Joseph last evening at a friend's home.

St. Joe, Downtown Autumn

I drove by this and loved the color and shade and shadow and light, all of it. Knew I had to have it.

Go, if you can. Especially if it's not a weekend.

Back When We Did Architecture VI

Note, too, on this, it's gorgeous and big and soaring and majestic....but it's not a court of justice or anything nearly so huge and noble. It was just created as an "all purpose center."

Back When We Did Architecture V

Not only did we, as a city and society, do architecture and do it right, but these were all over Kansas City.

Sadly, very sadly, we've torn an awful lot of them down.

Back When We Did Architecture IV

Again, East side.

Back When We Did Architecture III

Again, from the East side of the city.

Disgustingly, as if to prove my point, this is across the street from the above.

Back When We Did Architecture II

They honestly don't make them like they used.

Taken today, on the East side.

And mind you, this was for the middle class of the day, too.

Grande Dame II

Just off Ward Parkway.

It may have been a hot weekend but it was a beautiful one, as well.

The Mother Road

Seen this weekend, in Springfield, near downtown on St. Louis Street.

Red Green

I stepped out of the grocery this morning, around 8, with all that beautiful sunlight flooding in and saw this brilliant tree. Then noticed the complimentary red jeep. Loved what I saw.

Have a great weekend, y'all.

Spring white

I found these just off the Plaza, mid-May, during a soft Spring rain.
