Sunset, December 7, 2011

Shot by a friend, Bob Traviglione. He saw this same sunset I did--maybe you did, too. He was lucky enough to have caught it. I couldn't and didn't. It was magnificent. I did crop it a bit but that was all.

setting moon, KCK

I shot this from the Broadway Bridge in early May on the way home.  It's looking into Kansas City, Kansas, of course.  I've found I can get some pretty reliable shots heading North like this at times, at sunset.

mailbox

I shot this a few years ago on the East side of Topeka, heading on 6th Street, toward Lawrence.
The theme for today is "mailbox" on City Daily Photo, as you may have guessed.

accidental brilliance

Okay, I have to 'fess up on this one.  I was trying to shoot this car going by that had 2 children in the back seats who were each watching televisions mom and dad had supplied in order to keep the kids quiet on what must have been a long trip.  The idea disgusted me, frankly, and I thought I might blog about it.  Instead, I got this shot and I have to say, just for the color alone, I like how it turned out.  I can't claim I knew what I was creating, of course, but still, it was this artist's result so here you go.

Winter study in browns

Again, I shot this last month while in Atlanta.  It's from Piedmont Park.

Toy

This week's theme on the vfxy photo blog is--again, you guessed it--"toy".
What better time than to show our city's own toys?

Happy Fat Tuesday, y'all.

sunset (July 11, 2009, trust me)

Naturally (no pun intended) I was thrilled with how this turned out.

Dawn

As we (in Kansas City) all know, the Nelson-Atkins Art Gallery, at dawn.  (Click on picture for bigger, better viewing).
