Again, shot in Raytown at the end of a day of being at great friends' swimming pool (what we call "pooling").

Parkway patriot

I saw this a long time ago, along Ward Parkway and meant to shoot it then, too. I finally got around to it this last weekend. I liked how the bright Summer sun caught a bit of the flag, with dappled shade on the rest. The homeowner has had it up there seemingly forever.

I shot this in Raytown this past Sunday, at the end of another terrific day of weekend pool volleyball at some very good friends' home.

Shot a few days ago in Brookside. Sure, it's a common flower but still pretty. Enjoy your weekend, y'all.

Brookside porch

Walking the dogs, I saw this and just liked it. Somebody had some fun. Not the usual stuff. Not the usual front porch, for sure.

Or Olivet. Whatever

I've been meaning and wanting to shoot this for a long time. I saw this sign near Smithville Lake last year, just after I moved in and noticed the flub. So here you go, a bit less "artsy" today but maybe, possibly a bit more amusing, I hope. I did try to crop it artfully for you. Have a great day.

I shot this last evening, as a matter of fact. I was in Westport, on the way home. I love catching somewhat spontaneous, upstart advertising like this and you only get it in the city, in general, but more specifically, in midtown, in Westport. You'll never find fun stuff like this on the Plaza. I imagine Kurt and his friends had fun creating this, don't you? I like what they got. Thing is, I can't quite tell what Kurt does. Makes you want to go to the site, doesn't it?

I shot this in yet another friend's yard, last week. These are common as a boot here in the area but still, they make for great color. It seems we take a lot of things for granted, don't we?

early Summer

I shot this in a friend's front yard at the end of June. I dedicate this one to my sister-in-law, Myra and a great friend, Peggi, who both celebrate their birthdays today. Two fantastic people. Happy birthday to you both.

Shot this past week in Brookside while I walked the dogs.

Midtown Barbie

For some time this past May, Barbie was used--several of them--in the windows of the retail shop Morning Glory, on Westport Road.  I couldn't resist.

Spring rain

Shot on our own Country Club Plaza this Spring in early May at sunset.  I'm a big fan of the red/green complementary colors.  Who isn't, right?

Downtown

I was driving by and saw this on a building in downtown Kansas City, on Main Street. I immediately--as usual--had to slow the car, go back and shoot it. I thought it was fun. Who knows what company put this up, years ago, for their business. (Someone know?) I love how the artist--whoever it was--caught that peculiar look of seeming surprise in the steer's eyes.
